- If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation of permanent residence (COPR) and a visa (if you need one) to travel to Canada. You must arrive in Canada before your COPR and visa expire. You must also bring your COPR and passport with you, as well as your proof of funds and any other documents that IRCC advises you to bring. You will become a permanent resident of Canada once you complete the landing process at the port of entry.
